The School Day

The school gates open at 8:30am and will close at 8:40am on the Key Stage 1 playground and 8:45am on the Key Stage 2 playground, so that all pupils can be registered and we can maximise learning time. These morning sessions are so important as it is when pupils study reading and phonics. It is imperative that all pupils arrive at school on time so that learning opportunities are not lost.

Reception and Key Stage 1 Lessons start at 8:40am and finish at 3:10pm.

Key Stage 2 lessons start at 8:45am and finish at 3:15pm.

Pupils receive 32.5 teaching hours per week.

Break and lunch times are staggered throughout the day so that pupils can have lots of space to play games with their peers. 

Reception lunch time - 11:45am

Year 1 and 2 lunch time - 12:00pm

Year 3 and 4 lunch time - 12:30pm

Year 5 and 6 lunch time - 1pm

Nursery finishes at 11:45 and pupils are collected through the Early Years Gate on Beresford Road.

Year 1 and Year 2 finish their school day at 3:10pm and can be collected through the Beresford Road Gates. 

Years 3-6 finish their school day at 3:15 ( this is to allow parents/guardians to collect younger siblings first) and can be collected on their playgrounds through the gates on Napier Road.

Year 5/6 pupils will be allowed to walk home ( please complete a parent/guardian permission sheet). 

Please note that pupils can be collected by older family members/family friends ( secondary age and above). Please complete an end of day collection sheet to notify the school office.
